Happy New Year to you all from Siobhan and myself!!
With Britain paralysed by the Deep Freeze and freezing temperatures on par with the North Pole set to continue for days to come we hope you are all wrapped up warm and cosy.
To warm your hearts this is the first of our 2010 blogs. This is an exciting time for Hatty Blue for several reasons; not least because we welcome the New Year with a brand new spanking office. Don't worry; we haven't moved away from our fabulous Neals Yard location - we have extended our office into a much larger and aesthetically pleasing space and have had a complete refurbishment. It looks fantastic - do pop in and see us if you are passing!
Its also an exciting time for Shiv and myself as we start training in earnest for our double challenge- the London Marathon in April and the 75 mile walk from one side of Scotland to the other in May -all in aid of the marvellous St Lukes' Hospice, a Cancer charity very close to both our hearts.
We thought we would start a fitness blog to keep us on track. However, with being completely snowed in this week my training so far has consisted of eating my bodyweight in comfort food. So far this week my Life in the Big Freeze has consisted of bacon sandwiches, cheese on toast, shepherds pie and dumplings. And don't mention the trifle; I have custard running through my veins. I don't feel too guilty; as apparently it is a scientific fact that our appetities rise in direct proportion to the dipping of the temperature - we have an unstoppable instinct hurling us towards stodge! So for all those dieters and detoxers out there struggling to stay away from the sausage rolls, don't even bother this week!
Siobhan on the other hand has been enjoying a New Year break in Egypt's beautiful Sharm el Sheik. I cannot imagine she has been doing much training either, other than raising her hand to reach for the next cocktail.
In light of this you will see us starting our fitness and health regime starting next week - lets just write this week off!
We continue to get some great press coverage.
